[REVIEW] THE FACE SHOP CHIA SEED EYE AND SPOT ESSENCE

Hey Beauties!!!

Here's another product review on a product that I am using for quite a while now (3 months?). And generally, I am somehow impressed with this product. The skincare product is from The Face Shop and this was purchased in Korea by my Korean friend.

I am a person who researches and read product reviews first before purchasing the product but since my friend, at that time, needed to get my orders as fast as possible (because of some matters), I had no choice but to go directly to their (The Face Shop) website and look for the product that I need. 3 months ago, I attended a 3-day Makeup seminar by Archi Tolentino Maybelline's Chief MUA In the Philippines) and in that workshop, I learned the importance of eye creams and eye essences and Archi told me that I needed to use one if I don't want my eyes to get droopy for the next years to come (I have the potential to be one because my eyes are a little hooded, he said).

So, because of that, I was enlightened and I added the eye cream to my "to-buy list". So I came across with this product in TFS website. Without reading reviews about it, I bravely asked my friend to buy one for me. At first, I didn't know how PRICEY it was. TFS was having 30% sale in Korea at that time so I was expecting that it would cost around 10,000 -12,000₩. But to my surprise, It costs more than that. But... anyway, I have to start reviewing before this review gets too long ^___^

BTW, I also purchased this product because it claims that it can also heal blemishes and liver spots. So, it's like purchasing a 3-in-1 product ;)

BRAND: The Face Shop

PRODUCT NAME: CHIA SEED WATERY EYE AND SPOT ESSENCE

PRICE: original price is at 18,900 ₩ but I got this for the sale price of 13,230 ₩ (around 490 Php.)

VOLUME: 30 ML

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

(Let's do a lil history first ;)

What is CHIA SEED?
- Is a magical moisture seed from South America

CHIA SEED, absorbs moisture 10x its own weight. This product also contains PEARL extract (which explains its pearly feature) which raises the level of moisture and provides care to troubled areas for flawless clarity. The Chia seeds water is extracted within 24 hours via "Fresh method", instead of water delivering the vitality of the highly pure chia seeds. (-According to its packaging)

- Contains 100% chia seeds extract instead of water.
- An eye & spot essence in a new concept to remove dark circles and fully hydrate the skin.
- Its formula doesn't contain 7 synthetic additives, safely tested, contains organic CHIA SEEDS, and it is environment friendly.
- An intensive essence exclusively for the eyes and spots.
- Flawless care with moisture level-up around the eyes

ORDER OF USAGE: Chia Seed is actually a line from TFS, like Mango Seed, etc. So, if you bought the entire line of Chia Seed, the order of usage should be:
1. Chia seed Boosting Essence
2. Chia seed Toner
3. Chia seed Lotion
4. Chia seed EYE & SPOT ESSENCE
5. Chia seed Cream

DIRECTIONS: Every morning and evening, after prepping face with your skin care routine, squeeze a pea size onto ring finger (YES! the ring finger is the weakest and you have to tap it lightly around your eyes, be sure to apply it as GENTLY as you could since the eye area is the most sensitive part and where skin is the thinest.)

* Reapply 2-3 tines to spots where dullness is a concern and tap lightly for greater effects.

SCENT: For me, the scent smells like a mixture of mango and rose petal. I haven't tried smelling chia seeds myself, so I couldn't compare at all!! :)) And, the scent isn't overwhelming but, if it were unscented, I'd love it even more!!! ㅋㅋㅋ

TEXTURE: Gel-like and a bit watery :)

COLOR: Pearly white.

                                                            close-up

VERDICT

PROS:
- My eyelid area usually gets dry especially after wearing heavy eye make-up, but with this added on my skin care routine, I haven't had any experiences of having dry lids so far. SO, I AM LOVIN IT FOR THAT! <3
- It's very light unlike other eye creams :)
- The volume, 30 mL goes a long way!! I have mine for 3 months now and I've only consumed half of it. I apply it also to blemish spots, by the way!

CONS:
- I don't really have dark under eye circles, so I cannot attest to its claim of erasing dark under eye circles O.O ㅋㅋ
- The price! It's really expensive even if I got it on sale. :(
- For the blemishes and spots, it didn't really heal in an instant but, it somehow decreased the redness and inflamation of my zits :)

OVERALL RATING: 4/5

REPURCHASE?
For the price, no. But if they will sell this at a lower price, I would! Definitely!

That's all folks!

Hope this helped!

Feel free to comment below and share me your expereince about this product!!

WITH SO MUCH LOVE!!! <3

  2. You actually got it for a cheaper price! I envy you... I use their Wrinkle Stop Eye Cream and it costs PHP900+. :)

  3. Chia seeds themselves are exspensive so it may be because of that
